General Function
Reporting to the company President, the incumbent would be responsible for driving sales and creating an exceptional customer experience at our seasonal barbecue retail store in Port Carling, Ontario.
Location: Port Carling, Ontario
Length of Employment: This is a seasonal position running from approximately May until the end of September.
Safety
As part of the Onward team, your first and foremost responsibility is safety.
Understand and comply with company safety procedures
Ensure that all personnel involved and outside advisors or consultants (as applicable) have received the proper training ,understand, and comply with our company’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy as required.
Ensure that all future business plans comply with safety standards established for the appropriate jurisdictions.
Quality
Quality is everyone’s responsibility. Maintaining and improving the company’s quality initiatives is fundamental to our ongoing success. Understand and comply with the company’s ISO quality system.
Ensure that all future business plans comply with the company’s ISO Quality System.
Essential Duties
Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals and standard of performance.
Provide sound knowledge and educate customers about our product.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the store.
Perform necessary repairs on barbecues purchased by customers.
Perform maintenance, services, and detail barbecues purchased by the customer.
Perform payment transactions and supply supporting documents on employee purchases.
Perform Deliveries of purchased product in surrounding area. Company Delivery Van will be provided.
Assisting in training and developing a successful sales team.
Effectively communicate store needs to the company’s President.
Promote a safe work environment for all who enter the store.
Manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Positive attitude with effective communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to self govern.
Exceptional organization skills, with the ability to prioritize.
Must be handy, with the ability to repair and perform maintenance procedures on company’s barbecues.
Must have your own form of transportation to commute to and from work, and to and from repair and detailing jobs in the surrounding area.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
Previous retail and store management would be considered an asset.
Clean drivers abstract.
Working Conditions:
Retail Store
The store is expected to be clean, well organized, and maintained to company standards.
Work Hours:
Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Weekends when needed.
Additional hours may be required.
